A hot tub or sauna in Minnesota has a wind problem. The soak is perfect; the walk, the wait, and the cool-down are punishment for half the year. Retractable glass around the tub or the sauna's cool-off area blocks the wind and holds the warmth while keeping you outside, where the whole ritual belongs.
In summer the panels fold completely away and the space is an open deck again. In January it is a sheltered room with snow coming down on the other side of the glass, which is roughly the reason saunas were invented.
